This pie chart shows 2006 percentage of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions per energy source sector. Emission percentages are based on total teragrams of carbon dioxide equivalents. Electricity generation is responsible for contributing 33 percent of emissions to total U.S. greenhouse gas share, transportation sector contributes 28 percent, industry sector contributes 20 percent, agriculture sector contributes 8 percent, commercial sector contributes 6 percent, and the residential sector contributes 5 percent.
